The ideal candidate should be comfortable being directly involved with the design, development, testing, and operation of the solutions that will make up the cloud infrastructure. Once implemented, the candidate will typically be expected to provide some higher level production and technical support in the case of a serious outages. They will work closely with the CTO Organization to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes that drive the platform roadmap.
FUNCTIONAL GROUP RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Hands-on development of enterprise applications and IT services, as well as software development, compliance and security, and IT operations disciplines.
Architecting public cloud business application solutions.
Understanding of cloud design patterns, cloud operations and cloud cost models with hands-on ability to implement best practices or suggest improvements.
Demonstrating knowledge in private, public and hybrid cloud architecture, networking, workload types, migration patterns and tools .
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Create, develop and integrate APIs and UI - per written specifications; test, evaluate, engineer, develop, implement and support said technologies * Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via developing tools and automation - for example automated server build processes * Create processes and/or tools that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact * Respond to and resolve service problems; build tools and automation to prevent problem recurrence * Develop tools and utilities that provide telemetry and product usage metrics
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelors or higher level degree in Computer Science or related disciplines * 3+ years of experience and expert level proficiency with programming/scripting languages such as Java, Angular JS and React. * Experience in the design and implementation of scalable APIs * Experience in web Application design and development- HTML5/ CSS3/ jQuery * Experience in the design and implementation of CI/CD pipeline processes; automated build and test systems (e.g. Jenkins / Spinnaker) * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - desire to solve complex problems at scale * Experience in the day to day usage and troubleshooting of Linux based operating systems such as RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu
Highly desirable * Knowledge of Cloud providers such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform services etc.
